Saving Money With Your Internet Business Costs
4 Aug
Is the money you spend on your internet business results or profit driven?
A simple question really however you would be amazed at how many businesses are spending a huge amount of money on needless items in a given month that are not required!
How many pieces of software, books or guides have you purchased that are going to waste?
Is that advertising returning you top profits? Have you tested, tested and re-tested to get the best results?
Is that membership site that is costing you $30, $50 or even $100 actually making you money?
Is Adwords chewing up a large percentage of your profits when an initial outlay on SEO could be saving you a fortune long term?
The simple fact is that the less costs you have in running your business, the more profit you put back in your own pocket.
In essence with my own business costs I…
1. Try to Purchase items that have a one off cost rather than ongoing.
2. Where services are required with ongoing payment, I search out the best services at the most competitive price such as…

3. Compare the pricing and time requirements of an initial SEO campaign to that of an ongoing advertising campaign. In most cases the SEO campaign will bring in much more profit long term.

And lastly, no matter what I am doing. I track everything!

So grab a pen and paper, sit down and quite simply divide it into three columns. In the first column put down all the ongoing costs that you must continue to keep the business running. No advertising costs go in the column, we are talking about bare basics… hosting, autoresponder, domain name costs, etc.
In the second column write down all the advertising that you know for sure is making you money.
In the third column write down all advertising expenses which are not making you money or are unsure about and any other ongoing costs.
Therefore we would have…
Column One. Are you happy with these costs? Have you been with these services a long time and not looked around to see if costs have dropped, i.e. hosting. Can you be paying much less for the same?
Column Two. Are you happy with the returns on your advertising? Have you tested enough? Could you increase sales with a slow and steady SEO campaign by simply spending a few hours a week?
Column Three. Is some of this advertising not working even though you have tested it? Is it time to re-test or simply throw out? Are there other costs that simply are not returning any profits?
The fact is, every service you are using should be returning a profit in some way. If not, it doesn’t belong in your business.
